Friendship House

Friendship House provides a welcoming and inclusive place where individuals and families experiencing hardship can find dignity, compassion, and practical support through food, meals, showers, clothing, outreach, and connections to health and housing resources. We work to reduce barriers, and build pathways toward stability and hope for all in our community.

Join us every Saturday morning for a hot breakfast! Volunteers cook and serve a homecooked meal from 8AM to 9AM. Doors open for coffee and conversation at 7AM. While you're here, check out our food pantry and clothing closets! This is a free community meal provided by dedicated and caring volunteers, in an inclusive and judgement-free space. Come as you are, everyone is welcome! Rain or shine!

Food Pantry

Our food pantry has frozen, refrigerated, and shelf stable foods available six days a week.

Monday: 12PM - 2PM
Monday Evening: 5PM - 7PM
Tuesday: 8:30AM - 12PM
Wednesday: 8:30AM - 12PM
Thursday: 8:30AM - 12PM
Friday: 8:30AM - 12PM
Saturday: 8:25AM - 10AM

Clothing

We have two clothing rooms open to the public, six days per week. Here you will find comfortable clothing, items for a job interview, shoes, miscellaneous accessories, and more. We also have a small housewares section with kitchen items, living room decor, and more.

Monday through Friday: 8:30AM - 12PM
Saturday: 7AM-10AM

Showers

Showers are available six mornings per week. We have hygiene items such as shampoo, conditioner, soap, and more upon request.

Monday through Friday: 8:30AM - 11AM
Saturday: 7AM - 9AM

Street Outreach

First Step Haywood is a street outreach service provided by staff at Friendship House. This service is centered around trust-based care for individuals, families, and couples experiencing homelessness in Haywood County. Staff provides basic essentials, cold weather items, information about local resources, and assertive linkage to care. This service is funded in part by The Evergreen Foundation. Digital Navigation

Friendship House offers digital navigation to assist you with applying for phones, creating email addresses, applying for employment, filling out housing applications, and more. Stop by during business hours or call (828) 508-3420 for more information.
