Wilderness Trail

Payment is done through Afterschool HQ or cash & checks to FUMC Waynesville are also accepted. Please designate "Wilderness Trail (your student's name)" in the memo line.
Wilderness Trail is a backpacking ministry where we go up and go on a life changing 4 day hiking trip. This trip is great for first time backpackers and really any level (80 spots filled).
PACKING LIST - Use THIS LIST to make sure you have what you need for the trip. Reminder that Wilderness Trail will provide your backpacking pack, one Ziploc bag full of breakfast/snack items, meals for dinner, and backpacking supplies like tents. We recommend you bring one gallon Ziploc bag full (don't overpack!) of your favorite snacks from home for breakfast/snacks.
PACKING PARTY: Bring what you plan to bring in your Trail backpack and meet us in the Youth Area on Wednesday, June 25th at 5:30PM (two days before we leave for WT) to get helpful packing tips! We will have some former WT Staff and our amazing interns to help make sure you feel prepared with all you need.
DEPARTURE TIME & INFO: Meet in the FUMC Waynesville parking lot on Friday, June 27th at 11am WITH A FULL BELLY. We also recommend some snacks for the road. We are bringing 80 people up to hike! Because of the size of our group and logistics, we are not planning to stop for lunch on the way up to Wilderness Trail for lunch with our large caravan of vehicles. Wilderness Trail will feed us dinner that evening at the Property.
RETURN TIME & INFO: We will return home after a Wilderness Trail continental breakfast and expect to be home in Waynesville between 11am and noon on Wednesday, July 2nd.
Middle School Mission Trip to Gatlinburg
July 13-18, 2025 | Cost $400 ($405 with Credit Card)
Leaving at 3PM on Sunday, July 13th! *A parent or guardian must be present at drop-off to sign a notarized form. If this is not possible, please make arrangements with Matthew before Sunday, July 13th.

Mission Trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee with Team Effort Missions. We will work on some light construction such as painting and building steps or ramps. We will stay at a Team Effort Camp with meals provided. We also have an excursion day at the end of the week to enjoy an exciting day of activities!
Local Mission Trip
July 27-29, 2025 | Cost $100 ($102 with Credit Card)
A mini 3 day 2 night Mission Trip around Haywood County. This trip is open to all ages of youth and is the first trip open to rising 6th graders. This mission trip is our final youth trip of every summer and is the perfect snapshot of our youth ministry! We get to see and fulfill volunteer needs around us locally.
