At Rebuild Haywood, we empower our community's long-term recovery and resilience to Hurricane Helene and future disasters by providing critical housing repairs, locating temporary and permanent housing solutions, and addressing the comprehensive needs of individuals and families.

About Us

In the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Helene, it became apparent that there was a gap between the needs of the community and the resources that were available. Rebuild Haywood was created to bridge this gap. In the beginning, we were organizing teams of volunteers to mitigate flood damage, distribute essential supplies such as food and water, keep the community informed, and help individuals and families recover whatever was salvageable. As the needs of the community have shifted, Rebuild Haywood has adjusted course to continue to effectively address these needs. The team has grown to include a licensed general contractor, construction team, a certified disaster case manager, and case management team. To learn more about our process, click here.

In May 2025, two of our team members will be competing in the Pleasant Valley Triathlons to raise funds for the Rebuild Haywood mission. D’vorah Nadel and Gintar Senfield will be participating in a total of 5 triathlons over the course of 2 days. Benefits of sponsorship include logo featuring on athlete shirts and official Rebuild Haywood banner, social media and website recognition.
