Order of the Flame Acolytes
Acolyte means "one who attends or helps". An acolytes' duties include lighting the candles on the altar at the beginning of the worship service and extinguishing and carrying God's light out into the world at the end of the service. This is a great opportunity for our young people to serve in a meaningful way. We welcome anyone in 3rd grade and older to participate as an acolyte in both of our worship services. Acolyte training will take place during the Sunday School hour. Children will have the opportunity to rehearse in both the Sanctuary and the Gym. If your child would like to be an acolyte and they are unable to participate in either of the training sessions, don't worry, we can find another time to get them trained so that they can feel prepared to sign up an serve.
By becoming an acolyte at FUMC Waynesville, you are joining the Order of the Flame. The Order of the Flame has a long standing history of outstanding service at FUMC Waynesville and we invite you to be a part of it.
