description
Through the process of circle conversations, we seek to build relationships, knowledge and understanding that can lead to a more inclusive church, bridging the fear-filled historic divides of sexuality, race and gender.
This work currently focuses on:
Conversations seeking full participation for all LGBTQ+ people in church and society.
"Conversations that open the way to greater justice and healing by confronting our history of slavery, segregation, racism, and discrimination.”
Conversations about ways to overcome the gun violence that ravages our homes, neighborhoods, and public life.
Out of these conversations come ongoing initiatives of education and advocacy for change.
These conversations are rooted in the spiritual formation of monthly Roundtable Worship gatherings, a community here at First UMC affiliated with the Reconciling Ministries Network of the United Methodist Church.
Reconciling Conversations meets the second Tuesday evening of each month at 7 pm. For more information, contact Bill Everett or Lewis Poag.
