Ephesians Invitation - FULL
About this Group
Leader(s): Rev. Terry Bevill
Wednesdays at 6:30PM, Weekly
*This class is currently FULL*
It has been called the Queen of the Epistles, and the “divinest composition of man” (by a man who lived three centuries ago). We are not real sure who wrote it, or to whom it was initially addressed, but when we read it, we know it is written for us.
It is a continuing story in which we play a part. It is particularly relevant for us as it calls us to peace and unity in a world that calls us to violence and division. It instructs us in how “to lead a life worthy of the calling to which we have been called.”
I invite you to join with me in a seven week review of the Letter to the Ephesians and what it means for us, today, here and now. We may hear from NT Wright or some other learned professor occasionally, but for the most part it will be our guided discussion about the letter and how we live into it.
We will keep the sessions to about 45 minutes, and if we don’t get something fully discussed one week, we’ll get to it the next. I will steer the ship, but as a class we may decide to stay in one port more briefly or longer than expected, but we will get the voyage done. Any my hope is that when we finish, we will all be closer “to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ.” - Rev. Terry Bevill
