Let’s Talk About it: FUMC Family Meeting

By FUMC Staff | 2021-08-13 | 2 min read

Has your family ever called a “family meeting” before? I remember going to a few as a child, and we have had several with our little family over the years. As a child, I remember feeling the weight of the family meeting, because important things were being discussed. I also remember the transparency and honesty of my parents in those moments. It was so meaningful to engage in those conversations knowing that whatever difficulty, change, or big decision we were going to face as a family, we were stronger because we were moving through it together.

As a church staff, we consistently have conversations about how to continue ministry within the context of our pandemic reality. We ache and yearn for the days when we can be the church together without this weight and burden on our shoulders. We had high hopes for a new beginning this Fall with full programs and new ways to connect our church through worship, bible study and growth opportunities, and fellowship. The recent surge in covid cases has caused us re-evaluate, and once again, pivot.

We know that many of you have questions about our church life together. We have heard many questions from you all. Great questions, and we have explored them all. What is the plan for restarting the 8:30am service? What will our virtual presence continue to offer on YouTube, zoom, and through livestream? Will we be having Music Makers? What is being done about Scott’s position? What will Wonderful Wednesday look like? When will new small groups and studies be made available? And many more.

We want to hear from you, all together. Please come, Sunday, September 19 at 3pm in the sanctuary for our Let’s Talk About It: FUMC Family Meeting. Our staff would like to share with you, and we want to have an open and heartfelt discussion with you all. We want to dream together, God-size dreams about worship and ministry together. We are certain that God is on the move. Let’s work together to remain faithful to our vision to Be the Living Body of Christ. We will offer a remote option to enable those unable to be present in person to participate. So, please consider your questions, pray, and join us for holy conversation.
