YAM (Young Adult Ministry) at FUMC

Sunday School: We have 2 Sunday School Classes for Young Adults that both meet at 9:50am.

Bridges - Meets in the classroom in the Christian Growth Center (next to the kitchen).  They use a mix of curriculum from DVDs to class discussions.

Young Adult Class - (Yes, we need a new name!)  Meets in the "Pastor's Study" below the Christian Growth Center near the youth area.  They use various materials and encourage informal class discussion.  Each lesson stands alone so class members don't feel like they've missed anything if they're absent.

Small Group: Our current small group meets at 7pm at Becky and Andy Brown's home on Tuesday nights.  We're reading and discussing Rob Bell's book, Jesus Wants to Save Christians: A Manifesto for the Church in Exile.  This is an 8 week study ending December 29.  We will have another small group beginning in February.  Study materials, time, and location TBD.

Social Activities: We try to have one organized social outing or get together a month.  We also have several informal and random social events.  A few examples of social activities include going to the movies, potluck and dinner parties, theme parties, dinner out, and other local events in Waynesville and Asheville.

Mission Projects: We are currently working on organizing mission projects in the community.  We hope to work with Open Door soup kitchen, the local homeless shelter, and Step by Step home repair based in Clyde, NC.
